Get organized for September

It’s time to get organized and begin a new year — especially if you are on a school year, but even if you are not. The end of summer can be a grand time to get yourself in order.
I just received this bookstore promotion from my colleague, business reporter Julie Alterio. It’s about Pam Socolow, a professional organizer who has compiled materials (available from Sterling Publishing) and written guides for how to get organized. She will be offering plenty of tips next week at a Barnes & Noble in-store event. What a good way to shake those end-of-summer blues.
Socolow, who created the Family Life Organizer and Planner, will be in the City Center Barnes & Noble in White Plains and ready to answer organizing questions and explain why she created these products and how you can benefit the most from using them.
As a mother of 2, she launched her first product 5 years ago and has been adding to the program and sharing her tips since then to a growing audience.
Family Facts has added a Wall Calendar, Senior Organizer, Pregnancy Planner, Sticker Pack and Memento Keeper to the line that already includes the popular Life, Recipe and On The Go Organizers.
Socolow says that organizational ideas and products can help reduce stress and conquer life’s chaos.
The event is at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m., Sat, Sept, 6th.
She will provide tips and guidance on how to best utilize the entire line of Family Facts products, answer questions on how to get the most out of each product and even help you get started. “It’s all about systems and habits,†says Socolow. “Having the right system [for you] and developing the habit to use the system on a regular basis can help reduce stress and keep you on track to maintaining a healthy lifestyle.â€
There will be gifts and raffles — and tips to share with others.
