The National Book Foundation is again sponsoring a competition recognizing those who have gone to great lengths to inspire people to become lifelong readers.
I know there must be some Innovation in Reading contenders in our midst — at libraries, schools, book clubs, booksellers, community groups. Line up and send those applications to the National Book Foundation.
The prize is given in six categories: Education & Community Outreach; Tools & Technology; Schools & School Libraries; Public & University Libraries; Literary Magazines & Publishers; and Book Clubs, Reading Series & Performance Individuals.
And if you want inspiration to apply—the winner gets $2,500 in each category. The program is sponsored by the Ford Foundation.
