A New Spiritual Breathing Exercise

I like to share with you a spiritual breathing exercise, a form of Spiritual Breathing that Breathworkers around the world have been practicing lately. There is no name for it yet, but maybe with practice, you will be inspired to give us one!

Visualize this. With the inhale we invite life force energy awaken and rise up from our center or source. With the exhale we fall down or drop down into our center. While inhaling we pull energy up from our innermost core, from our heart. While exhaling we relax and surrender into the divine spirit within.

And so a sacred meeting occurs. The essence or source of our being from within and rises up into our awareness. At the same time we consciously settle down and come home; we melt and merge into this source within.

We use breathing together with a heartfelt intention. We use breath together with feeling, and we set out on a moment to moment, breath by breath inner journey. We connect with our spirit thru consciousness and breath.

You can imagine this spirit or energy as light or love, as a feeling of deep peace and great joy.

Breathing in: draw energy up from the center of your being. Breathing out: drop down and relax into the center of your being. Inhaling: draw energy up from your source within. Exhaling: let go and fall into this source.

Inhaling: invite and welcome the energy of love and peace and joy to awaken and rise up from within you. Exhaling: drop down to meet and greet and merge with this energy of love and peace and joy.

As you inhale, feel an ocean like surge swelling up from within you. As you exhale, feel yourself surrender to it, consciously relax and melt into it!

It is up to us to take all the steps we can toward God. But it is God who takes the final step toward us! We can, thru our own efforts, bring ourselves to the door. But it God who opens the door, who reaches out, and welcomes us home!

Breathing in, actively invite and welcome life into your being; breathing out, let go and surrender your being to life. I was in a relationship where my partner was not paying enough attention to me, never told me that he loves me only when I asked him and I was never a priority in his life. One day I start searching for help and I heared about dr. alexzander Hightemple. He just safe my relationship. He did a spell charm to safe my relationship. Today I’m grateful to dr Alexzander Hightemple who did an amazing work. He safe our relationship and today my partner treat me like a queen. I became everything for him. Don’t think too much anymore because god has sent a great spell caster who can do all things, just to see smile on the face of young lovers and family. He is the one who will and can help you in what so ever situation you fine yourself into.

How to Do a forward roll

Versatile players with power moves under the basket as well as outside shots. Learn how to play forward and low post in this free basketball lesson video from an experienced coach.

Part 1 of 15 How to Play forward in youth basketball.

The Oklahoma Roll is a great wrestling move that can be used when an opponent has been beating up pretty badly, and he in pain struggling to get up. It very opportunistic but also simple and is used to pin your opponent into submission. You do this by coming off the ropes and doing a forward roll over your opponent. You want your head to stay close to their body so that your head is coming across to the other side of his stomach while you rolling over. While doing this you need to take your right arm and put it over his left shoulder grabbing his left arm. Your left arm is going to.

This is a video tutorial in the Sports category where you are going to learn how to play offense in a game of soccer. The forward soccer position usually stays on the offensive side in order to score goals. Adrian Heath, head coach, shows you how to play the forward position properly. This is going to be a very easy and simple drill. All you are looking for is a nice little floating pass over the defender head to your own player in the forward position. And the forward player then tries to score the goal past the goalkeeper.

In this video, we learn how to adjust your head seat. You want to make sure the top of your stem is adjusted correctly and the spacers are adjusted correctly. Go in and tighten the top cap pole until it just snug. Then, when you grab your bike and roll it forward, go in and tighten it some more. If it too tight, it going to bind up and you won be able to turn your handle bars. Loosen them up as much as you can without them being too loose. From here, you will be able to ride your bike and enjoy!.

Sometimes you will have to pitch underhand whether you are playing softball, baseball or with little kids sometimes a lighter throw is necessary. It may seem odd and unnatural to pitch this way at first, but check out this tutorial for tips on how to toss that ball over the plate with the same force as upperhand pitching.

You Will Need:

A softball

A glove

A softball field

A catcher

A batter (optional)

Step 1: Begin from the set

Hold the ball in the glove at your waist, body relaxed, facing home plate 46 feet away. Touch the rubber slab on the pitcher’s mound with your dominant.

Another Look at our Kashmir Policy

A key corner stone of Pakistan’s foreign policy has been that it strives to improve its diplomatic position and capacity to enforce United Nations resolutions that would enable the inhabitants of the State of Jammu and Kashmir to exercise the right of self determination. Inherent in this policy is the assumption that given a choice, the people of Jammu and Kashmir would want to, either

join with Pakistan, or establish themselves as a separate country which would be friendly towards Pakistan.

Much water has flown under the bridge and the ground realities have changed quite significantly since our Kashmir policy was first formulated. It may be time to test the underlying assumptions of this policy.

a) A survey conducted in August 2007 and sponsored by media groups, Indian Express The Dawn CNN IBN showed that: " 87% of the people in the Kashmir valley wanted independence. However, joining Pakistan figures nowhere as a first preference for Kashmiris and India is onlyb) Another survey conducted in May 2010 in Indian and Pakistani administered Kashmir, taken on both sides of the Line of Control (LoC) by Robert Braddock an associate fellow at the Chatham House think tank in London, showed that: " opinions on an independent state of J were sharply divided by geographical distribution.

In the predominantly Muslim Kashmir Valley in Indian administered Kashmir, the proportion in favor of independence ranged from 74% 95%. However, in the predominantly Hindu Jammu part of Indian administered Kashmir, there was virtually no support for independence at all. This survey also indicated that If the movement across the LoC were to be fully liberalized, support for keeping the LoC rises dramatically to 85% overall.

In the Kashmir valley it rises to over 80% and in Pakistani administered Kashmir to over 90%".

c) An earlier survey reported by Dawn in April 2005 and conducted by a marketing research firm, Synovate India, showed that:

Given the low desire of the people of Occupied Kashmir wishing to join Pakistan and the uncertainty of the political disposition of an independent Kashmir vis a vis Pakistan and even Azad Kashmiris, one needs to ask the following question. Can it taken as a given that the relations between Pakistan and an independent Kashmir, were it to be created, would be as close as those between Pakistan and Azad Kashmir today? It seems that there is a high probability that while Pakistan and the Azad Kashmiris will lose control over Azad Kashmir, they maygain very little in return, in such a transaction.

If this realization gains ground within the Pakistan establishment, the Pakistani public and the Azad Kashmir population, it would drastically reduce the support the Jihadi groups receive in Pakistan.

This in turn will lead to a reduction of hostilities and activities across the border, which could go a long way in ending the repression in Occupied Kashmir and help the Kashmiri people live a more peaceful life. A new environment built on these principles will improve the chances of free cross border movement across the line of control which seems to be the desire of the Kashmiris on both sides of the border.

Please note that this change in policy can be implemented by Pakistan unilaterally since it is the interest of Pakistan and the people of Azad Kashmir. It does not require formal agreement with India. Needless to say this change will take time in view of the long history of acrimony between the two countries. It would require that serious measures are taken to stop the activities of the Jihadi groups , which have now taken on a life of their own. However, over time, such a change in policy will reduce the tensions on the eastern border.

Shrodinger Cat is the allegory for Kashmiris. Reference to enforcing the UN resolutions is farcical in historical sense considering:

1) when India approached the UN for Kashmir issue, it was under non binding Chapter Vi

2) whatever moral force any UN non binding resolution may have had, was totally eroded by the Simla agreement signed by Mrs Gandhi and Mr Bhutto, whereby Kashmir was made a bi lateral issue Pakistan pulled the rug fromunder the Kashmiris feet by signing Simla agreement.

Just like the cat, no one bothered to ask the Kashmiris at the time and now hope by both sides today is that the cat is dead the issue is whether to burn it or bury it!

Did anyone ask the Kashmiris whether they wanted to be in the proverbial box?! Today, the cat has more rights with the Animal Welfare groups ready to take Shrodinger to task for animal cruelty sides ASSUME the Kashmiris consent that they are content and happy being in the box, as many comments in coming days may exhibit. Sheer heights of hypocricy on India and Pakistan part when they try and take te moral and legal high ground on the Kashmir issue.

Raj ji with respect you confirm what I have said above about assumptions.

The article, sorry, blog, makes references to many pseudo or quasi surveys with questionable size and randomness of the samples.

The most intensive, extensive and exhaustive study was done in 2010 by Mr. Bradnock for Chatham House of London. The study was inspired and supported by Dr. Saif al Islam al Qadhafi, son of Muammar Gaddafi, and PhD from London School of Economics. The study is entitled Paths to Peace and is freely available online to general public.

The study found the following about Indian Administered Jammu Kashmir (J 2% favour joining Pakistan.

42 % favour Indepemdence.

47% favour the Indian (unofficial) position: 28% favour Joining India, and 19% favour making LOC an International Border.

Musharraf Formula means disaster. Borders can not become irrelevant. The only viable solution lies in making LoC international border allowing ease of travel to Kashmiris from both sides. If Punjab and Bengal can be divided, why not J ? and we are living with this division for past 60 years.

Independence of J K is out of question, forget India or Pakistan, even China will not accept creation of a land locked country that will attract superpowers like vultures are attracted to a dead animal. India Pakistan do not enjoy the trust required for joint management. So the only solution can be found around making LoC international border.

All the talk of right of self determination of Kashmiris is the biggest intellectual mischief. Roughly 1/3rd of population of both, India and Pakistan, live below poverty line does anyone really cares ? why so much noise on this cosmetic and fashionable term when hardly anyone who will vote understands the definition of a state ?

interest of Pakistan and Pakistani Kashmiris respect Hashim Sb, this is personification of selfishness it beggars belief that solutions are being proposed by intelligent commentators based on interests of one side or the other but not of the actual people most affected.

Media Musings Blog Archive Steve Jobs

Yesterday, founder and former CEO of Apple Steve Jobs died. Though he had been battling cancer for many years, his death was a shock. Only two months ago he still headed the world’s coolest technology company.

Jobs survived the 1990s tech bubble. He and Apple came through a near bankruptcy and rebuilt to become one of the world’s wealthiest and most recognizable brands. For this, and for making technology user friendly, he deserves our respect.

The tributes quickly turned from the man to the company. It’s understandable. Jobs lived for Apple: he was its driving force, its vision. Even Julia Gillard said he was a man who changed our world But it is here that the tributes become nauseating.

So why was the media so keen to emphasis the good points about Steve Jobs, to the extent of glorifying a company which has been accused of abusing workers rights and of anti competitive behaviour?

One, Steve Jobs just died. It difficult to write badly of the dead, even if they have flaws. And Jobs, more than most CEOs, embodied his company. It extremely difficult to write of Jobs separate from his company.

Secondly, journalists tend to love Apple. Journalists aren programmers or tech experts, but they rely on computers. Apple user friendly design may have blinded them to some the company flaws. Also, while the vast majority of journalists have an iPad, the vast majority of the population does not. The disconnect can lead journalists to over emphasis Apple significance. Many of Apple signature products were not new when they were released, but under Jobs guidance the company found ways to repackage and sell old technology. But this diminishes his significance. marketer with its overtones of trickery, wouldn sell as many papers as changed our world is a pity. In misdirecting our praise, we gloss over the true achievements of an extremely creative man.

Nurses may call strike if Government tries to cut pay as David Cameron vows to deliver ‘truly seven

Nurses may call strike if Government tries to cut pay as David Cameron vows to deliver ‘truly seven

Nurses will take industrial action if the Government tries to cut pay to deliver its election promise of a "truly seven day NHS", the leader of Britain’s biggest nursing union has warned.

In what he called "a strong warning to the Secretary of State", Dr Peter Carter, the general secretary of the Royal College of Nursing, told The Independent that any "attacks on unsocial hours or weekend working payments" would be a "red line" for nurses.

His comments raise the prospect of an unprecedented strike, at a time when the Government eager to change the law to make it harder for workers in essential public services to walk out faces action from rail workers and teachers.

Next week will see Britain’s first national rail strike in 20 years, while teachers in some areas have been taking part in industrial action over the imposition of academies.

With the NHS in financial crisis, experts have questioned whether extra hospital staffing in the evenings and at weekends promised in the Conservative manifesto can be achieved without either holding down or cutting pay rates.

The increasing strain on NHS resources

Proposals to slash the extra pay nurses receive for working evenings and weekends have already been put forward by the NHS Employers organisation, and will be considered by the Government later this year.

David Cameron will devote his first major speech since the election today to the NHS, in an attempt to reassure the public that the health service is safe under a Tory government. "Our commitment is to free healthcare for everyone wherever you are and whenever you need it," he will say. "A seven day NHS, safe in our hands for every generation to come."

Speaking at a GP surgery in the West Midlands, the Prime Minister will promise to increase the NHS budget by at least 8bn a year by 2020. The Tories have endorsed a plan by NHS England chief executive Simon Stevens to fill a funding gap estimated at 30bn a year. They say efficiency savings can cover 22bn of the gap, with the rest coming from taxes.

Mr Cameron will pledge more GPs, faster access to new drugs and treatments and a greater focus on mental health and healthy living. He is expected to deny that staff will need to work longer hours, claiming that the hours can be covered by flexible working.

But Dr Carter, who represents 420,000 nurses, midwives and other staff, told The Independent any attacks on salaries, after a five year period in which the real value of NHS pay has fallen, would "not augur well in terms of the industrial relations climate".

"I would particularly give a really strong warning to the Secretary of State: any attacks on unsocial hours, weekend working payments, would be strongly resisted," he said. "While we don’t want industrial action, I do feel that for nurses that would be a red line."

The RCN has never gone on strike and declined to join industrial action over a separate pay dispute last year, which saw thousands of staff represented by the Unison, Unite and other unions walk out in the biggest strike action to hit the NHS since the Thatcher era.

"People criticised us for [not joining the strike] but we felt that was the right and ethically responsible thing to do," said Dr Carter. "But the membership is quite clear: unsocial hours, weekend working, Christmas Day and bank holidays they get a very modest higher level of remuneration. Any attack on that and I do fear it would result in industrial action."

Further strike action in the autumn was averted after Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt offered staff earning up to 56,500 a 1 per cent pay rise.

In what he called ‘a strong warning to the Secretary of State’, Dr Peter Carter, the general secretary of the Royal College of Nursing, told The Independent that any ‘attacks on unsocial hours or weekend working payments’ would be a ‘red line’ for nurses

However, Mr Hunt may find himself on a collision course with workers again. The independent NHS Pay Review Body (PRB) will report to the Government in July with recommendations that may form the basis of a new pay offer to nurses. In evidence to the PRB, the employers set out proposals to cut out of hours pay. One of the proposals, which would save 1.1bn, would see unsocial hours pay rates cut by half and paid only after 10pm, even at the weekend.

Before the election Mr Hunt made it clear that, once in Government, he would prioritise NHS staffing numbers, not pay. He refused to rule out any further real term cuts, arguing that allowing pay to increase too fast would necessitate cutting jobs, putting patient safety at risk.

Much will depend on how quickly the Government can deliver its promised extra funding. Mr Hunt has committed to Mr Stevens’ 8bn a year, but this figure is predicated on efficiency savings of 22bn and it is not clear where these would be found.

To save a similar amount over the past five years, the NHS was forced to hold back pay, and slash the amount of money hospitals are paid to deliver services. With dozens of hospitals already in financial deficit, and with the threat of industrial action, it is unlikely such strategies could be deployed again without either a damaging decline in service quality or in staff morale.

Senior figures have already warned that the state of the NHS’s finances could force the Government to consider introducing charges for healthcare. Dr Mark Porter, chair of the British Medical Association, said last month that any new government would be "tempted" to bring in fees for services such as seeing a GP.

Dr Porter told The Independent last week that achieving the 22bn would be difficult because the NHS was "not starting in the same place as five years ago. The major [cost cutting] tools have been used up," he said. "It’s not a place the Health Secretary should be comfortable being in."

Dr Carter added that rather than bringing in fees or cutting services, the Government should consider using its post election honeymoon period to introduce an "NHS tax" to shore up finances.

"The public are more than happy to pay more for their health service provided the money is well used," he said. "The Government is in for five years. It would be well advised to do what the public want to see: everyone paying a little bit more. That would make a big dent in that 22bn."

A Department of Health spokesperson said: "NHS staff are our greatest asset and we know nurses work extremely hard to care for an increasing number of patients.

"Patients deserve the same high quality care every day of the week we will continue to make sure we have enough nurses and further consider how best to recognise and reward high performance."

Season of strikes? Planned union actionA flurry of strikes is expected over the next few weeks.

Network Rail staff are due to walk out for 24 hours from 5pm on 25 May a bank holiday in a dispute over pay, job security and working conditions.

The funny thing is that you most likely heard that the sun is dangerous, causes skin deterioration and skin cancer such as melanoma. However, the healing powers of sunlight are essential and often misunderstood.

Sunlight exposure reduces the risk of many cancers by more than 50% and even helps reverse certain types of cancers through the creation of vitamin D in the body. It’s a magnificent natural healing modality, and it’s been right over our head every single day. Nature has a way to provide us with everything we need for our well being. And sunlight is essential to our health. There is even a caused by lack of sunlight in winter in the Northern countries that affects people personality, their moods and eventually their health. Yet somehow, after spending billions of dollars on so called medical research to find "cures" for various cancers, almost no one from the world of mainstream medicine has yet acknowledged the healing power of natural sunlight and vitamin D.

None of them have actually prescribed sunlight to patients, except for perhaps a handful of pioneering researchers. By and large, the medical community has not only ignored this truly miraculous cure for many types of cancer; it has worked hard to discredit it.

If there were ever a reason to lose faith in conventional medicine, or so called modern medicine, it is simply the fact that one of the greatest cures and prevention strategies for cancer goes completely ignored by nearly the entire conventional medical community. It’s as if there were a miracle medicine invented, but conventional medical doctors didn’t want anyone to find out about it. Why aren’t researchers promoting cures that are available for free?

When nature offers a cure that’s not likely to produce billions of dollars in revenue like the cancer drug industry, the benefit of the cure are downplayed. A drug company will only promote cures that it can patent and exploit for financial gain. The way it perpetuates the cycle is to make sure that the cancer treatments it controls get a lot more press and hype than any natural treatments. You don’t see sunlight promoted in full page advertisements for its ability to prevent or reverse cancer. Instead, the medical community uses the full page advertisement for high profit prescription drugs that have negative side effects and actually kill people.

However, all of us have the power to heal our bodies. Healing is something the patient does, not the doctor. Healing occurs within. Healing is based on faith, on intention and the power of the mind. If you would like to learn more about using your mind to heal your body of cancer, find all the solutions and the results of 25 years of study in Cancer Free For Life. Biography of Carmen Electra

Carmen’s talents were evident when she was a child, as she was to attend the School for Creative and Performing Arts at nine years of age. In school, she began taking singing lessons and practicing her vocal talents. By her teen years, she was performing in musicals (as a dancer) and doing her own choreography. Her ultimate ambition was to go to Los Angeles and sign a record deal. By the age of fifteen, she was well on her way to realizing her dream. She then moved to Minneapolis, where she lived with her sister, and worked as a clothes model for Target department stores.

In 1992, soon after meeting and auditioning for Prince, she was signed to his Paisley Park Records label. Prince took her under his wing, describing her as "this new girl out of Cincinnati." Her first album coincided with her opening slot on the European leg of Prince’s Diamonds And Pearls Tour. She was promoted with ads in Rolling Stone and on MTV. The video for the single, "Go Go Dancer", shot in March 1992, received very little airplay on MTV, and only the small Video Jukebox Network played the song.

A 12" single of "Go Go Dancer" hit the stores in June, but didn’t sell, as no one was interested apart from a couple of Prince fans who had the hardest time even finding the album in shops. By that time, her album was finished, and promotional advance cassette copies and bios were sent out for review purposes to members of the press. However, it was all in vain. The album was delayed, and it was decided that it needed additional tracks and remixing before it was released.

From 1993 1995, Carmen Electra was a forgotten name. Just another pretty face with no talent was the public’s feeling. Her career seemed to be on the rocks until she got a boost when she appeared on the Nickelodeon show "All That".

In March of 1996, she posed for Playboy magazine. She also performed in a video for Playboy, "Playboy Cheerleaders", in which she sings the show stopper, "2 4 6 8". Also in 1996, she co hosted MTV’s Loveline and occasionally appeared as a dancer at Prince’s Glam Slam clubs.

Carmen’s career was revived on October 4, 1996 when it was announced that she would take over from Jenny McCarthy (also a Playboy veteran) as Chris Hardwick’s co host on MTV’s dating show "Singled Out" starting February 10, 1997, for at least 65 episodes.

In January 1997, the New York Daily News announced Carmen was going to replace Pamela Lee on Baywatch. She had occasionally appeared on the spin off Baywatch Nights, so the news wasn’t too surprising. In April 1997, she was given a five year contract to replace Pamela’s character on Baywatch.

Carmen has also appeared as a national spokesperson for Budweiser and recently filmed a small role in the independent feature "Dust and Stardust", a movie about making it in Hollywood.

About this blog
Four longtime Journal News reporters share their insights about fiction, non-fiction, poetry and short stories by bringing books discussions online and exploring the local literati scene. Lots of people say they are booklovers, but Elizabeth Ganga, Barbara Livingston Nackman, Ken Valenti and Randi Weiner really are!

What they blog about
Book Notes: An ongoing chat about events, authors and news items about books, libraries, authors and everything literary from metro news reporters Barbara Livingston Nackman and Elizabeth Ganga. Barbara has been a reporter for The Journal News since 1997. She covers municipalities in Putnam County and keeps track of book events everywhere - and began her career writing about books and libraries. Lisa has been a reporter for The Journal News since 2000, after working at several newspapers in Connecticut. She has covered cities and town in sourthern and northern Westchester and is a big Jane Austen fan (though she reads everything from history to mysteries). Both reporters work out of the Mount Kisco bureau and frequently trade tidbits about books and events.

Novel Pursuits: Ken Valenti sheds light on his ongoing experiences as a novelist and poet.  He talks about his trials and tribulations including musings about projects, readings, successes, and even insights into what he is reading and finds interesting. A reporter for The Journal News and its forerunners for more than 20 years, Ken now covers transportation. His first love has been writing fiction, but he's only begun pursuing that dream in recent years. He has been a reader and fiction editor for the journal Inkwell, and has published one short story in another fiction journal.

Seasoned Works: Randi Weiner dishes up an ongoing discussion about all books - old and savory. Though Randi keeps readers abreast of school issues most days and reads lots of children's and young adult books, current science fiction and murder mysteries, her overriding passion is older works generally written before 1940. She chats online about favorites and newly discovered treasures as well as book exhibits and talks related to the dusty, the musty and the marvelous illustrators of the past. She has been a reporter since 1976, with Gannett since 1989. And for the record, she says she has a personal library of more than 4,000 volumes.
